Rules 1 & 2 don't apply here
With Linktu being the only social networking site to my knowledge to feature an imageboard section, it comes as no surprise to me that many of Linktu's members also frequent the world's #1 english speaking imageboard site, 4Chan, as well.
While the people of 4Chan are very much welcome here, and while some of 4Chan and Linktu's features may be similar, I feel the need to point out what is different about the two sites.
The main one being 4Chan's rules 1 & 2, stolen from "Fight Club", which is, "We don't talk about 4Chan". Those rules don't apply here. This is Linktu. Our position is very much the opposite. While 4Chan seeks to be an unknown secret society, Linktu believes in spreading the word to as many people as possible, and letting the Linktu army grow to as many members as possible.
So go out, people of Linktu. Spam the hell out of every website on the web. Post pictures and text that say "Linktu.com" everywhere, and make sure all your MySpace/Facebook/Twitter/email contacts join. If every one of us got 100 people to join, (most of you have that many MySpace or Facebook friends) the Linktu army would be in the hundreds of thousands. Together we are strong.

Well, 2009 has come to a close and it's a new year. Linktu had a birthday also and it's been one year since the launch of Linktu in December 2008. So what can we expect from Linktu in 2010?
In 2010 you will all witness Linktu 2.0. The first thing coming up in the next couple of months that you all will notice will be an overhaul of the overall look and functionality of the site. All the features that you know and love about Linktu will remain intact but the site will get a simplified, stripped down look and much easier navigation. Also the ebrasive bold gray and green color scheme will be toned down to a tamer gray and green that is not so hard on the eyes. These changes have already been designed and programmed and there are just a few more things to be ironed out before Linktu adapts to its new style.
Linktu in its look and style in its current state is too similar to MySpace. But MySpace is old news. Linktu is the future...
But this is only the beginning of Linktu 2.0. There are other developments in the works also being actively developed as we speak, and hopefully will be even more extreme upgrades to be added before 2010 comes to an end.

The return of the FORUM! A couple of months back I discontinued the FORUM section from Linktu in an effort to drive more atention towards the imageboard in preparation for future upgrades and improvements to the site that are on the way. But these upgrades and improvements may prove to be a slow process and may take a while, so I have decided to reinstate the forums for now so there is more to do and keep everybody entertained with the site in the meantime. It also makes Linktu look less like a dead zone to the newcomers that are joining every day. Anyway, every thread and post that was up before are back up again, and feel free to start new ones. 'til next time...

RECENT CHANGES...
You may have noticed a few recent changes to Linktu. The most noticeable of these being that some of the less popular features of Linktu, such as RATE & BATTLE, QUIZ, CRUSH, GADGETS, GROUPS and FORUMS, have been shut down, terminated and/or discontinued.
In the case of most of these, it is due to Linktu moving in a simpler "less is more" direction, rather than a complicated site with tons and tons of extra features that go mainly unused. Also, many of these are "MySpace-ish" features and Linktu is distancing itself from MySpace. Linktu is NOT another MySpace. Linktu is an entity of its own.
As for the FORUMS, The FORUMS and the IMAGEBOARD have been in competition, being that they are similar entities, both dedicated to people sharing their thoughts & ideas. One of them had to go. Linktu is pushing the imageboard as a more focal point of the site (this is also why the "Recent imageboard posts" box was added to the home page. To lure more people to the imageboard more often). But just about every social networking site has forums, while the IMAGEBOARD is something more unique to Linktu. Also, the IMAGEBOARD is superior to the forums anyway, because in the imageboard not only can you post text, but also images. So if you have anything you wanted to post in the forums, simply put it in the imagboard instead.

IMAGEBOARD heats up! The imageboard section used to be like the bastard stepchild of Linktu, off in the corner, with a different look & layout than the rest of the site, almost like it didn't belong. It has a look similar to other imageboard & chan sites, rather than the MySpace-ish look the rest of the site has. It was often ignored, with tumbleweeds rolling through it, sometimes going weeks or even a month without a new post. But recently the imageboard has been picking up steam and heating up, partially due to people logging on more frequently and perhaps also due to the addition of the "Latest Imageboard Posts" box on the Linktu home page, reminding people of all the recent shenanagins of the imageboard. Lately, there are several new posts and replies daily, making it worth checking out every day, just to see all the funny and insightful new things popping up. The imageboard was always my personal favorite part of the site, and I'm getting a kick out of watching it gain momentum. Thanks to everyone contributing, and to all of you still not involved, take the time to peep out the imageboard, it will make you laugh, cry, and occasionally shock & amaze. At the time of this writing, our beloved Linktu.com has cracked the top million in Alexa rankings, hit #824,038, and is still climbing. Linktu has shot up 700,000 ranks in the past week alone. There are over 182 million websites in the world. That means that the mighty Linktu is now more relevant than 95% of the sites currently on the internet.
Proof:
alexa.com/siteinfo/linktu.com So what are the Alexa rankings, anyway? Well, the Alexa rankings is pretty much the internet equivalent to The Neilson rankings of TV, or the Billboard top 100 of record sales. It is the best measure of a website's importance. For instance, you will not find it hard to believe that Google is currently #1 and Yahoo is #2. YouTube & Facebook are also present in the top 5, and MySpace (once #1) just misses the top ten at #11.
Anyway, I just wanted to point it out to you all, my Linktu brothers and sisters, that our Linktu, the dark horse of social networks & imageboards, the little site that could, is on its way. It'a all because of us. Let's keep it up, and watch this site surpass Facebook, MySpace and everyone else standing in our way. Keep logging on every day, send messages and comments to all your friends, post on the imagboard, and use the MySpace inviter to invite all your MySpace friends to join Linktu.

The people have spoken!
Due to overwhelming disapproval and protest from the Linktu community, the rule change of 04/01/2009 has been overturned.
The rules will now return to what they were since opening day at Linktu.com. They are as follow:
I. THE IMAGEBOARD
1. The imageboard is for adults 18 years of age or older only. Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from any use of the imageboard.
2. Other than the age restriction, there are no other rules on the imageboard, other than federal law beyond the control of Linkt (i.e. no child porn, etc.)
II. OUTSIDE THE IMAGEBOARD
1. Outside the imageboard, nudity is prohibited throughout the rest of the site until further notice.
That's it. Simple.
